ALAN'S
FREELANCE WRITING
For a number of years, on and off, I have written freelance articles,
short stories, essays and features.
I have written for, and been published in: the Tallahassee Democrat, the
Tribe (Florida State University Seminole Football magazine), Tallahassee Magazine, Christian Single and Radio World (radio
trade publication), just to name a few.
At the present, I am again exploring for future freelance writing work.
I have interest in all things radio, including Part 15 low power AM; the history and heritage of U.S. radio stations; Florida
State Parks; the country lifestyle; and humorous articles.
I am taking a course in grant writing. One
of the goals of this is to be able to help nonprofit organizations, churches, ministries and others receive grants they may
be eligible for. Contact me via the form on this page if you are interested in this. I expect to complete the course by mid-August
2010.
I'm also at work on a short book about my family, specifically my maternal grandfather and his unimitatable
life on his farm. Titled "Sagas of the Hill," this is a special book for my family. It is a book that has needed
to be written for a long time.
I'm available for many types of projects such as newsletters and brochures
as well as website re-writes.
Unless you operate a website with an established payment system (such as About.com)
I require a 50% deposit to begin work on a project. The remainder is due when the project is completed. As a general rule,
if you quit paying, I stop writing. I will play fair, but have been burned. Any questions, just email me.
